Iwaki / Japan, 12. July 2013 – For more efficient grooving and threading, the Tungaloy Corporation has now expanded the NS9530 cermet grade insert product line that delivers remarkable fracture resistance, enhanced tool life and superior surface finishes.
The new NS9530 grade incorporates Tungaloy's ‘PremiumTec’ special surface technology that reduces micro roughness on the surface to support improved tool life and surface finish. When conducting threading and grooving operations, a bright appearance of the machined surface is one of the important factors for customer satisfaction. To meet this market requirement, the Tungaloy Corporation has decided to expand the product line of NS9530 cermet grade of inserts for its threading, grooving and parting tools.
Created for threading or grooving at low to medium cutting speeds, the fracture and wear resistance of the NS9530 grade are perfectly balanced to ensure it outperforms competitor grades measurably. For example, under laboratory conditions, the NS9530 grade has doubled the fracture resistance in comparison to competitor inserts.
For grooving and parting tools, My-T series inserts and GBR/L type 3 cornered triangular inserts are available in the NS9530 grade. Also, other conventional grooving inserts are set for this product line.
Regarding to threading inserts, ISO, Unified, Whitworth and pipe taper threads can be machined. Several kinds of pitches can be applied for each kind of thread.
To extend the capabilities, the new grades are available over the majority of Tungaloy's extensive range of grooving and threading, so the benefits of the new grades are available for an exceptionally wide selection of these machining scenarios.
